Welcome, and thank you for visiting...

Vista Maria is Michigan’s largest non-profit residential and community-based treatment agency for abused and neglected girls. Founded in 1883 by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, we serve girls ages 11-17 from across Michigan who are in need of treatment for mental health, substance abuse, trauma recovery, and other psychosocial issues. We offer gender-responsive treatment programs that introduce, model, and reinforce strong, positive messages about being female.

Our Mission:
Transitioning high-risk girls into productive, healthy adulthood, within their home communities when possible, through a comprehensive continuum of care focused in Michigan that:
  • Fosters emotional healing
  • Creates a safe and stable environment
  • Improves family relationships
  • Builds spiritual and moral development consistent with the individual’s spiritual beliefs
  • Increases personal competency and responsibility in relationships
  • Improves educational and vocational performance
