VISTA MARIA RECEIVES ART VAN AND ALLY FINANCIAL GRANTS TOTALLING $30,000

(Dearborn Heights), Mich., November (12), 2010 - Vista Maria announced today that in addition to being awarded a $20,000 grant as part of the Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge it is also the recipient of a $10,000 grant from Ally Financial.

Art Van Furniture has supported Michigan-based children, health and human services programs for the second year in a row through the Art Van Charity Challenge.   Art Van provided $1 million to fund 50 grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000.  Nearly 600 organizations applied to receive these grants.   Vista Maria was one of the 50 chosen to receive funding.

Ally Financial strives to support and strengthen the communities where we live and work through volunteerism, charitable contributions, and financial education. Grants are awarded quarterly through Ally Financial in the areas of financial literacy, human services, and housing through activities that directly benefit communities in need. One of the areas receiving priority for the Ally grants was Detroit Michigan.

Both grants will help with the implementation of a special new life skills program at Vista Maria, the Transition to Independence Project (TIP). TIP is an evidence-supported model for improving outcomes for youth with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties, and helps them to make a successful transition from out-of-home care to the community and from adolescence to adulthood.

About Vista Maria: Vista Maria has an important mission to heal Michigan's victimized girls and women with best-practice treatment programs designed to meet their unique needs while serving other vulnerable children and families within Southeast Michigan.
