Our Approach – Restoring Hope
Full statement and information updated: May 18, 2022
Vista Maria continues to take a proactive approach to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep our campus safe. We have been diligently following guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and local health authorities. The safety and wellbeing of everyone living and working at Vista Maria is our primary concern and we take it seriously. We are committed to following all safety precautions set forth to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Masks must be worn at all times by staff and youth. We also maintain regular physical distancing practices. Dedicated cleaning staff disinfect surfaces throughout the day, in addition to regular cleaning. In the event of a positive COVID-19 test result in any of our buildings, a Level 3 decontamination cleaning is done by trained cleaning staff, following recommended procedures.
Vista Maria provides free voluntary COVID-19 testing every Wednesday for our staff. All staff have vaccinations made available to them as care facility workers, and we support CDC guidelines encouraging vaccines.
For our Foster Care and community programs, we maintain the same safety protocols for all staff, families and care partners. In-person meetings have resumed, such as home visits with foster families, however, masks are worn at all times and everyone keeps physical distance.
If you have donations, please contact Ganelle Lesnew, to determine if we can accept and to schedule an approved delivery.
