Being a foster parent, even for a short amount of time, has been so rewarding. Being able to show a child that they are important, even to a complete stranger, is powerful. What is even more powerful is no longer being a complete stranger, but being a mom and someone they know they can trust. It’s beautiful when a child puts his or her trust in you and you begin to see them blossom. Every child should be able to live as a child in a safe environment. We may be just a temporary home for a child, but in that time, they are learning they are loved, which is never temporary.
